Advertising in the Pilot represents real value for money, but we need to plan our layouts during the next few weeks, and advertising space is limited.  If you wish to advertise, we have 2 methods of booking.

Either

1. Complete the booking form from the link provided and return it before the 10^th March 2009 (we will raise invoices upon request, otherwise please make cheques payable to “NWVYC”),
   or
2. Book and pay on line using Google Check Out below.  If you use Google Check out we will then contact you regarding provision of artwork.  At the bottom of this page, select the size of advertisement you require then click the button.

Our requirements for artwork are detailed below.  If you don’t have suitable artwork, we have close relationships with design studios. Please let me know if you would like us to give you details of one which would be suitable for your business.

ARTWORK

Please provide artwork as PDF 1.4 (Acrobat5) with the following settings:

• Downsample graphics to 300dpi
• No marks or bleeds
• Embed all fonts
• No security

If you wish us to modify the material, it may be submitted in any of the following formats, together with full details of any fonts used in the advertisement. We may ask you to provide font files for exotic fonts.

• PageMaker 6 or 7
• InDesign CS3
• CorelDraw 8 or later
• Publisher 2000 to 2003
• QuarkXpress 3.3 or 4.1x

 

New Full Colour Pilot due in 2009 – Advertise now – limited opportunity!

‘Cruising Anglesey and adjoining Waters’ is the definitive Pilot for yachts and motor boats, canoeists and divers covering the coast from Liverpool, around Anglesey, and down to Pwllheli.  Now published by IMRAY, the oldest nautical publishing house in Europe, the pilot was first published by the Club in 1985.

Through its close association with IMRAY and the editor Ralph Morris, the North West Venturers Yacht club is delighted to able to offer commercial organisations an opportunity to advertise in the new colour edition (which will cover an extended area as far south as Porthmadog), making this a unique offering – no other IMRAY Pilot presently carries advertising. And, whilst traditionally this has been a black and white publication, the new 8^th edition will be in full colour – and so will your advertisement.

There is only a limited amount of space available for advertising, so it’s important that you book now for the limited advertising space that is becoming available in the new Pilot. 

The key points to consider are as follows;

Coverage - there are over 1,800 marina berths alone between Liverpool and Pwhelli, and hundreds of drying and deep water moorings around Anglesey and along the coast between Liverpool and Porthmadog.  In addition, hundreds of visiting boats pass through these waters every year.  An up to date Pilot is an essential piece of on-board equipment for all of those boat users and their crews.

Targeted – all of the users of the Pilot use the waters it covers – this is not like advertising in a national magazine to people across the United Kingdom. Over 12,000 copies of the Pilot have been sold since it first came on the market

Longevity – magazine advertising is often discarded after receipt of a new issue.  By advertising in the Pilot your advertisement will be read many times over by its owner and their crew, and your advertisement will appear in any reprints to the 8^th edition for a period of up to 3 years from its initial publication.

Full Colour - the Pilot is being produced in full colour with aerial mapping. It will be an invaluable asset to all those who cruise the waters it covers, and those who have older versions of the Pilot will almost certainly wish to upgrade to the new full colour version.  Your advertisement will stand out.
