Folk Evening at the Point |
Events for your Diary
Folk Evening at the Venturers Club house on 6th September,
including BBQ
In order to meet the
legal requirements of SOLAS V, yachts must carry an illustrated document
showing life-saving signals and must be able to prove that passages have
been planned (a Log Book). The Coastguard (MCA) produce a free leaflet for
the former, a scanned version of which may be downloaded from their site.
The Club has produced a Log Book which should also meet the requirement and
a LifesSaving poster, based on the RYA and MCA data.
The Club has also produced some Guidance Notes which will enable skipper
to meet the SOLAS regulations. These have been developed from the official
guidelines but adapted, with the cooperatio of the RYA, to address the needs
of yachts.
