Lifeboat 85 Appeal

Beaumaris LifeboatThe North West Venturers have close links with Beaumaris Lifeboat station, including joint exercises and fund raising activities. Beaumaris is one of the busiest lifeboat stations in Wales, covering the entire Menai Straits area and beyond Puffin Island. The station is now due to replace the existing Atlantic 75 class boat with the new Atlantic 85 lifeboat.

The Atlantic 85 class lifeboat is an improvement on the older class used today; it is faster, carries a fourth crew member, has radar and radio direction finding equipment and has more space available for casualties. The twin 115hp four stroke engines are a big improvement on the current engines on the 75; not just for outright speed, but for reliability and fuel consumption.

Several activities to help raise money for the 85 fund have taken pace at the club recently.
